Alumni Spotlight: Danielle Au

By: Danielle AU, PERIMETER SCHOOL alum

We recently caught up with several of our Perimeter School alumni, and we are excited to share with you how Perimeter School has influenced their stories and how God is using them for kingdom impact.

Our next alumni spotlight is Danielle Au, Perimeter School Class of 2012.

What do you do? Where do you live?

I am a fourth year student at the University of Georgia and work for the Undergraduate Admissions Office as a New Student Orientation Leader.

How Did your time at Perimeter School influencE who you are and what you do today?

Looking back at my time at Perimeter School, I can clearly see how the school’s initiative to serve the community has shaped my passions and future career. As an elementary and middle school student, I viewed service projects as a fun day of school! As I reflect on those serving opportunities, I can see how profoundly impactful and meaningful those days were on my life. I am a college student who wants to make a difference in the world through love, compassion, and service. Being an orientation leader is the perfect outlet because I am able to fulfill my innate desire to serve -  the same desire that Perimeter School instilled in me at a young age.

"If it weren't for Perimeter School, I wouldn't know . . .”

… that we are all fearfully and wonderfully made. Memorizing a myriad of scripture, including Psalm 139, has forever shaped my identity.

I am confident in who the Lord has made me to be, and I carry that out through my career and through service.

In what ways is the work you are doing now spiritually and culturally Significant?

As an orientation leader, I work closely with individuals and personally mentor over 600 students with different backgrounds and viewpoints than mine. This position has been so rewarding because I’ve been able to watch the Lord use me has a light in the darkness. Although I am different than the majority of students I come into contact with, I am able to serve and love on those who do not know Him.
