Eighth Grade Reflections

By: Perimeter School Eighth Grade Students

We are so proud of the Perimeter School class of 2021! These students have persevered during a unique year and have grown in knowledge, relationships, and dedication to the Lord.

We asked each student to reflect on his/her time at Perimeter School. We are excited to share some of their responses with you!

What is Something You Accomplished This year that you are proud of?

JOSH COLCORD: I grew in my relationship with God. I have come closer to Him, and I have been basking in His Word.

SAVANNAH TOWNSEND: I am proud of the fact that I have learned to communicate better with people.

ABIGAIL CRAWFORD: I made it into the musical this year! I auditioned every school year since I was able to and finally made it. It was so fun! I’m very proud of that.

What was the most challenging part of this year for you? How did you grow from this challenge?

LUCAS BEALS: Learning how to make friends with people that think differently than I do.

HAILEY NICKELL: The most challenging part of this year for me was adjusting to COVID and quarantine. I learned how much I took hanging out with my friends and going to school for granted. I count it as a blessing because I deepened friendships in ways that I wouldn’t have otherwise.

COOPER WIT: Computer science was hard because I am not very experienced, but Mr. Bennett made it fun and interesting to learn something new.

Of all the books you read during your time at perimeter school, which was your favorite? Why?

ABBY LEWANDOWSKI: To Kill a Mockingbird! I love this book! It taught me so much about empathy, and it is by far my favorite.

MOLLY MACDONALD: It was Heidi. Parents brought in desserts for “Heidi Day!”

CAROLINE ROSE: Holes because of the intriguing plot and adventurous scenes and events.

What Person at our school has made the biggest impact in your life? Why?

KYLE GORDON: Mrs. Pinkston! She was my third grade teacher, and she still remembers me! Her great teaching and kindness helped me through a hard time in my life.

TESS RICHARDSON: In seventh grade, Dr. Dimock made science so fun! She was also a great Bible teacher, and she helped me grow as a believer.

BARNES FANSLER: The person that has made the biggest impact in my life would be Mrs. DeHart. She was my kindergarten teacher, and I feel like she really taught me to be a leader in the classroom.

What Advice Would you give to younger perimeter school STUDENTS?

IRIS BLACKGRAVE: Work hard and try your best! Also, get to know your teachers. They really care about you.

DAVID HIGHTOWER: Enjoy your time because it goes by fast! I would do anything to have more time with my friends that I might not see again.

SUSANNAH REEVES: Try to always look for the positive!

What is something about your time at perimeter school that you will take with you as you move on to high school?

BUCK BARBER: This community, the love of your friends, and especially the Word of God will always be there for you.

SAMANTHA RUNCKEL: I will take with me the knowledge of how to respond to someone I disagree with and how to love others well.

ZACH CLINE: Jesus!
