At Perimeter School, our vision is to see the home, church, and school, working in unison to educate, disciple, and propel students toward kingdom impact. One way we do this is to set aside three school days each year to serve our community.

We are excited to share experiences from our Service Project and Family Serve Days this year with you.

Why We Serve

“For the March service project, first grade students worked in the Francine Garden, weeding, spreading soil and mulch, and planting seeds. The students had the opportunity to work with their hands and get dirty while beautifying our church grounds and serving the community members who walk around campus. Perimeter Church has a large campus where community members walk daily. Soon, there will also be lots of children on campus for Camp All American. It was great to see the students work hard outside and see the fruits of their labor. I’m glad they learned some skills that could translate into helping serve their own homes/families and maybe their grandparents and neighbors in the future.”

“Our fifth grade group had a quick tour of the Sandy Springs Recycle Center and then helped sort plastics. The sorting was a great learning experience for the kids. It was messy. I think it is good for our students to understand that some people have hard, messy jobs and sometimes serving others can be messy.”

“We took Mrs. Langford’s second grade class to the Cohen Home. I love how excited the residents were that we were there. One resident was a holocaust survivor, and we were blessed by hearing his story and how his life was impacted.”

“This year our family made freezer meals for Promise686 for Family Serve Day. We have done this in the past as a family and may become a new Christmas tradition for us. We are so thankful for the many at Perimeter School and Perimeter Church who make serving in our community so accessible. We were given the recipes and all instructions. The kids enjoyed helping, and it was a sweet way to spend the afternoon.”
