MIDDLE SCHOOL Classroom ACCOMMODATIONS

SERVICES PROVIDED BY ACADEMIC SUPPORT PROGRAM:

  • Student Observation (parental permission granted)

  • Teacher Observation

  • Analysis of Grades and Current Performance in the Classroom

  • Analysis of Psycho-educational Testing (Testing is required for accommodations in the Support Program; however, only a doctor’s note is required for ADHD.)

Classroom ACCOMMODATIONS include:

  • Development of a Student Profile with Accommodations

  • Learning Ally (audio books)

  • Grade Level Support Teacher Will Join Parent-Teacher Conferences at Parent or Teacher Request

 

Accommodations will be determined by Psycho-educational testing, classroom observations, and feedback from content-area teachers. Psycho-educational testing is required to receive accommodations. Psycho-educational testing must be updated every 3 years.

 

Accommodations may include:

  • Preferential Seating

  • Assisted Technology

  • Copy of Notes

  • Extended Test Time

  • Iowa/CogAT Testing Accommodations

  • Strategies for Sensory, Visual, and Auditory Processing (enlarging tests, chunking)

  • Small Group Testing with Grade Level Support Teacher
