Alumni Spotlight: Bailey Moody

Without Perimeter School, I wouldn’t have the strong biblical foundation I have today.

By: Bailey Moody, perimeter school alum

We recently caught up with several of our Perimeter School alumni, and we are excited to share with you how Perimeter School has influenced their stories and how God is using them for kingdom impact.

Our next alumni spotlight is Bailey Moody, Perimeter School Class of 2016.

WHAT DO YOU DO? WHERE DO YOU LIVE?

I am currently a graduate student at the University of Alabama, pursuing a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, while also beginning my fifth season on the Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Team. I most recently represented Team USA at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

HOW DID YOUR TIME AT PERIMETER SCHOOL INFLUENCE WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU DO TODAY?

During my time at Perimeter School, I went through some of the most challenging experiences of my life. I was diagnosed with cancer, lost my leg, and mourned the loss of a friend to cancer. These events deeply affected me, my family, and my classmates. However, the support I received from the Perimeter School community was extraordinary. The school truly embodied the hands and feet of Christ, offering unwavering love and support during such immense suffering. They stepped into the fire with us, helping carry us through that difficult time.

"IF IT WEREN'T FOR PERIMETER SCHOOL, I WOULDN'T KNOW . . .”

Without Perimeter School, I wouldn’t have the strong biblical foundation I have today. The school not only taught me about Jesus and the truth of scripture but also equipped me to seek those answers for myself and explain my faith to others. I am especially grateful for the focus on scripture memorization, which helped me understand the importance of keeping God’s Word stored in my heart.

IN WHAT WAYS IS THE WORK YOU ARE DOING NOW SPIRITUALLY AND CULTURALLY SIGNIFICANT?

I am a member of the Women’s Wheelchair Basketball team at The University of Alabama and for Team USA. Through the time I have spent on these teams, I have learned how to love my teammates well and build authentic relationships that provide opportunities to be an example and share Jesus’ love as He intended for us. I share the court with people from various walks of life, cultures, and even parts of the world, and they are friends of mine who I get to see and interact with every day. I’ve learned about their cultures, families, and passions, and for that I am grateful.

IN WHAT WAYS IS PERIMETER SCHOOL STILL IMPACTING YOUR FAMILY TODAY?

I look back on my time at Perimeter School with deep gratitude, as it was a season of tremendous spiritual growth for me. My youngest sister, Lexi, currently attends Perimeter School, and through her, I continue to feel the school’s influence. Watching her grow in her relationship with Jesus has been a blessing, as she radiates the joy of the Lord and loves others well. My family still attends Perimeter Church, and I often join them when I am back home in Atlanta. Perimeter School remains a home for me, extending far beyond my graduation.
