Announcing A Transition of Leadership
A Message from our Headmaster, Bobby Scott
In our culture today, upon being asked how long I have served as head of Perimeter School, there is normally a gasp of incredulity…”that long!” Reasons for that response varies, but I always hope it means we don’t seem that old! For Valerie and me, our longevity rests in the heart of the school and the genuineness of the people. Plus it is just our place of joy and purpose!
Personally, for a long time, I never wanted to think about leaving the school, as it is my life. But we need to be wise and practical. I began my career as a high school teacher in 1976, so my last year here at Perimeter will see me having walked the halls of schools, counting my own education, for 64 years. I only skipped school for 5 years! Yes, “that long!”
When we felt the time to leave was approaching, I was happy to submit names of candidates, but I totally trusted the church leadership, with involvement by some select SMT members, to find my replacement. Our school philosophy and practice is so unique and even unexplainable to some folks, it needed to be someone who “gets it.” Though we are a thoroughly Christian school, being covenant in philosophy and Charlotte Mason in practice requires a certain unique passion and grounding. When I consider all those factors, I was thankful to hear that Jeremy Case was their selection.
"I'm eager to work with Jeremy over a two-year transition period to both learn with him, serve with him, and teach him what I've loved about this place."
As a former student, teacher, and SMT (board) member, his learning curve shrinks. I'm eager to work with Jeremy over a two-year transition period to both learn with him, serve with him, and teach him what I've loved about this place.
We are so grateful to Perimeter Church to give us the soft landing of two more years for Valerie and me to continue serving. We want to prepare Jeremy and Carolyn for what we hope will be a long tenure as well.

A Message from Randy Pope, Lead Teaching Pastor of Perimeter Church
At this year's fall Campus Meeting, Bobby Scott challenged parents on what it means to be a “beloved community.” Over the past 35 years, the Lord has used covenant education to establish that very thing, a beloved community, through His instrument of Perimeter School.
Much of that is due to the devotion and passion of Bobby Scott. Bobby has established a unique school where academics are revered, but hearts are pursued. Bobby has maintained his love for children and dedication to education while keeping the gospel front and center. He has captured the essence of what it means to expand the kingdom using the backdrop of education.
"Bobby has established a unique school where academics are revered, but hearts are pursued."
During Bobby's 33 years at Perimeter School, he has grown our school from 24 to over 520 students. He has helped start several others schools in the Atlanta area and even in Tanzania and Guatemala. He has literally been both principal and shepherd to thousands of souls who have walked the halls of Perimeter School.
While Bobby and his wife, Valerie, feel God directing them to new horizons, the work of Perimeter School will continue. The covenant body of parents will maintain the vision of raising children to love and serve Jesus. Perimeter Church will continue to guide Perimeter School as a vital ministry that equips and establishes the next generation of kingdom builders.
Jeremy Case is proven, passionate, and enthusiastic about assuming the mantle of leadership of Perimeter School. He and his wife, Carolyn, have been deeply invested in the ministry of Perimeter School for years. Jeremy will follow the Lord’s leading in further establishing a vibrant school that meets the needs of today’s covenant families.
"Jeremy Case is proven, passionate, and enthusiastic about assuming the mantle of leadership of Perimeter School."
While the years past bear beauty and bounty, what lies ahead promises abundance and depth. The future is bright for Perimeter School.
Children who are yet to be born will experience the depth and joys of covenant education at Perimeter School. What a legacy Bobby has established and what a blessing it will be to watch this transition bless this the young people of today.
A message from our next head of school, Jeremy Case
My time as a student at Perimeter School was life-changing. Throughout those years, the Perimeter family loved and discipled me well. They instilled in me a love for learning and equipped me with a kingdom-mindset. Every person behind the heart of this school pointed me to Jesus and His loving-kindness. It was here, at Perimeter School, that I became deeply rooted in the gospel and God’s grace.
My love for our school has grown deeper still. Not only have I had the privilege to be a Perimeter School student, I have also been a parent, teacher, and SMT member. Each of these experiences has deepened my love for this place and its people while providing a unique blend of immersive involvement in the atmosphere and life of our school.
It has been a great blessing to serve for the past 14 years on staff at Perimeter Church. These years, on the other side of Christian education, have continually confirmed my calling and passion for teaching and discipling the next generation and turning the hearts of God’s people toward His children. I’m excited to carry on this calling at Perimeter School while continuing to create an atmosphere where children can flourish in their understanding of God’s truth and knowledge of His creation and kingdom while being surrounded by the love and support of our covenant community.

It is a humble undertaking to even think about transitioning into the role of Bobby Scott. Bobby will leave an indelible legacy at this school and in the lives of every student, parent, and teacher. I know this because Bobby was my headmaster. His influence in my life is profound. He’s my friend. He discipled me. He embodies what I aspire to be – a faithful servant, a true and kind pastor for the sake of children and families. I can think of no greater joy than to continue in his work and honor him in the process. I’m thankful for the years ahead to learn from the wealth of his wisdom and trueness of his character. God has given us much to be thankful for, and I look forward to celebrating Bobby and Valerie and their legacy of faith which is evident in every aspect of this school.
I’m eager to see God’s plan and continued provision for our school. I believe Perimeter School is essential in discipling the next generation for kingdom impact because this school is where life-on-life relationships are cultivated. This school is where godly disciplines are instilled and hearts are transformed. This school is where servant leadership is modeled, a biblical worldview shaped, and a kingdom mindset informed. I believe Perimeter School has a crucial role to play in progressing the vision of our church and our calling as believers, and I’m excited to see God’s continued faithfulness in the years to come.

A Charge to Our Covenant Family
The future of our school relies on all of us to carry the Perimeter School mission forward. If we want to see Perimeter School grow in depth and influence in our homes and our community at large, the energy that propels that mission forward must come from the bottom up, not the top down.
Perimeter School is preparing for the natural transition to the next generation of leadership. This transition is not only healthy, but critical and essential for stability, health, and kingdom advancement.
Let’s all remember to encourage each other to take ownership of this mission. We strive to be a school where heart change and mind renewal is our highest value.
The Covenant Community Pledge
"As a professed member of the covenant family of Perimeter School, and acknowledging my role as the primary educator of my children, I hereby recognize my inadequacy to raise up covenant children alone. I pledge with this community to be actively present, vulnerable, teachable, and prayerful. I promise to pursue opportunities made available by Perimeter School to equip and bring all of us to greater maturity in Christ. I view this commitment not as a burden, but as a privilege to take advantage of these critical years of growth and learning in our children. This pledge expresses the desire of my heart, and I depend on Him for strength and joy in its fulfillment. "
God shows up in our messy places and transforms ordinary moments into holy ones.
