We recently caught up with several of our Perimeter School alumni, and we are excited to share with you how Perimeter School has influenced their stories and how God is using them for kingdom impact.

Our next alumni spotlight is Mary Anna Reece Tillery, Perimeter School Class of 2009.

What do you do? Where do you live?

I currently live in Peachtree Corners with my husband, Scotty, and work as a meeting coordinator for Roam, a co-working office space based in Atlanta.

How Did your time at Perimeter School influencE who you are and what you do today?

The most valuable aspect of my time at Perimeter School was the people! To this day, I am still very close with the best friends that I made at Perimeter School. We called ourselves “the 8” and are all still a part of each others' lives today.

I recognize how different and impactful it was to know my friends and their parents on the level that I did. My friends from Perimeter School have obviously changed my life for the better, but so have my relationships with their parents.

I know now that I’ve had a whole team of prayer warriors praying for me since I was a first grader, which is such an incredible blessing.

"If it weren't for Perimeter School, I wouldn't know . . .”

My time at Perimeter helped shape me in ways I don’t think many elementary and middle schools do. Specifically, I believe that Perimeter School taught me how to communicate with adults at a young age, which has helped me tremendously in my adult and professional life. We were constantly around parents and authority and learned to look people in the eyes and be confident.

In what ways is the work you are doing now spiritually and culturally Significant?

Roam’s motto is to “change the way the world does business,” and I believe that is exactly what we do. Personally, I come in contact with a lot of business men and women who are caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Day in and day out, I am encouraged by Roam to slow down and get to know our guests and be hospitable, and I have seen the fruits of having a different kind of hospitality than you may normally come in contact with in the business world. By being people-focused each day, I am able to stand out and be a light.
