Educators Impacting Eternity
By: Perimeter School TEACHERS
At Perimeter School, our outstanding teachers love Jesus and are eager to partner with believing families in equipping the next generation. Our highly personal and intentional approach to education allows teachers to live out their faith through educating and discipling students. Perimeter School is a place where educators link arms with other professionals to influence the kingdom each day in the classroom.
We are excited to highlight what a few of our amazing teachers love about teaching at Perimeter School.

MEG SAMS (KINDERGARTEN):
“I love the amazing community of teachers that I work with! They are my prayer warriors and friends. I love being with them every day.”
ANNE JOHNSON (KINDERGARTEN):
“I love working with my team. It is a joy to teach with a group of people who love the Lord and can support each other through all of life’s events. We pray for each other, we laugh together, and we support each other in our jobs by offering new ideas…
…I also feel very supported by the administration. I have always been able to bring questions and ideas and asked for help any time I need it. My time has been respected, and I feel that my spiritual and professional growth has been impacted by the offerings before and after school.”
KRISTEN OERTZEN (GRADE 1):
“What I like most about working at Perimeter School is the covenant family. I know everyone is doing their best to be a light for Jesus. There is grace and patience for new teachers as we learn the ropes. Everyone is so helpful. It is a much more relaxed atmosphere than I experienced in previous teaching roles. I love that I can openly talk about God and actually teach what the Bible says. I am learning along with the kids, too, even though I have read scripture all my life. Looking at it from their lens is a rewarding experience.”
ANGELA DEHART (GRADE 3):
“At Perimeter School, we enjoy community with the parents of our students that provides a deeper understanding of who each student is as a whole child. This allows us to come alongside the parents, as well as the child, while the child learns and grows in Christ. Perimeter School values our time as educators. Teachers are given staff development opportunities to grow and learn in our profession and time to plan meaningful lessons. We are valued here at Perimeter School.”
LAUREN APONTE (GRADE 3):
“What I love about this school is the organic covenant Christian community that exists. The relationships I've developed with children, parents, and faculty have been an unexpected blessing to me.”
MELISSA BINFORD (GRADE 4):
“It is an extra joy to be at Perimeter School where I can relate everything I teach back to our Creator, God. Being able to teach from a biblical worldview is such a privilege.”
BRENDON O’DOWD (GRADE 5):
“I love the daily opportunity to disciple students through each subject. The life lessons are abundant!”
STEVE BENNETT (GRADE 8):
“I love teaching at Perimeter School as a part of a larger team of people who work together to make raising children possible. The support from school staff, school parents, students, security, facilities, and leadership is REAL and felt on a daily basis. I show up and do my thing on top of all that.”
JAY VARNER (GRADE 8):
“I love the people I work with, both faculty and staff. Jesus prayed that his followers would be one and that the world would know we are Christians by our love for one another. We spend a third of our lives at work. I am thankful I spend mine in an environment of unity, support, peace, and love.”
BRIANNA TEJEDA (GRADE 8):
“As an alum of Perimeter School, I knew I wanted to work here because I felt known by the school. As I build relationships with parents, students, and faculty, it is a gift to be able to teach in a place that focuses on fostering a love for learning rooted in deep truth and lasting relationships.”
The proceeds from this year’s Perimeter School Benefit will be used towards accelerating Perimeter School teacher and staff salaries so that we can retain these amazing teachers and recruit the highest qualified personnel for educating students and equipping and encouraging covenant families.
